Dr. rer. nat. Ernst Gebetsroither-Geringer works at the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology as a Senior Expert Advisor in the Centre for Energy and the Competence Unit Digital Resilient Cities. He has more than 25 years of experience in environmental system analysis and modelling projects and teaches "Modelling and Simulation" at the University of Vienna. A special focus of his work is the combination of different modelling approaches, as reflected in a dissertation on the topic. He also has extensive experience as a WP coordinator in large EU projects, as well as a project leader for national research projects. In addition, under his leadership, a simulation platform was developed that is used to simulate and analyse urban development scenarios (UD_InfraSim). In recent years, one of his main areas of work has been the development of WebGIS applications for the collection, analysis and visualisation of spatial data. Further focal points of his work are the circular economy and the digital support of integrative, participatory urban planning processes and Citizen Science projects.
