Nicola Colaninno

Nicola Colaninno is an Assistant Professor of Urban Planning at the Politecnico di Milano, where he leads the MultiCAST project, a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Global Fellowship initiative in collaboration with MIT. Holding a Ph.D. in Urban and Architectural Management from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, his academic and professional trajectory spans leading institutions, including TU Delft, MIT, UPC, and the University of Amsterdam. His research focuses on climate change adaptation, urban heat islands, and the integration of GIScience and remote sensing into urban planning. With a background in architecture and several interdisciplinary project experiences, he combines academic leadership, international collaboration, and data-driven spatial analysis to design more sustainable, resilient, and equitable urban environments.
