Thomas Maloutas (Researcher Emeritus and Professor Emeritus at EKKE and Harokopio University) will address "The Challenge of Inclusiveness" on December 10. In his talk he will examine whether the New European Bauhaus can achieve inclusiveness amid rising inequality and political resistance, while also ensuring sustainable, high-quality built environments remain accessible to all.
Barbara Widera (Associate Professor at Wrocław University of Science and Technology) will present "Why Beauty, Sustainability, and Inclusiveness Must Be Considered Together" on December 11. Her speech will highlight that sustainable design must also be beautiful and inclusive. When aesthetics and accessibility are overlooked, spaces fail to inspire or endure. Integrating these three elements creates places people value, protect, and preserve.
The Closing Plenary Session on December 12 will begin with a synthesis of the key outcomes presented by the 7 Thematic Track Organizers, highlighting the main insights emerging from the contributions within each Regular Track and Special Session. The Plenary will then be followed by a Roundtable Discussion featuring international keynote speakers, centred on the themes of the New European Bauhaus and enriched by perspectives from Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Among these international guests:
Fan Li, Senior Researcher at UN-Habitat, representing Asia
Rolf Schuett, President of IUPF, representing Latin America
...and more experts to come. Stay tuned for updates!
